Ohligpfad and Kieselberg

Both Bobenheim vineyards are situated in a very favourable location directly in the lee of the Haardt with a long period of sunshine.

Ohligpfad
This vineyard is located in the northern part of the Bobenheim am Berg district and borders on the communities of Kleinkarlbach and Kirchheim.
The name Ohligpfad has been used to describe a vineyard here for more than two hundred years. "Ohlig" is the dialect form for oil. The name of the vineyard therefore means "path that leads to the oil mill". And this old path did indeed lead in the direction of Kirchheim to the Ohligmühle, also known as the Kandelmühle, situated on the Eckbach brook.
Soil type: The soil of this gently undulating hilly landscape consists mainly of loamy sands, in places containing gravel, and thus belongs to the fertile soils that give Riesling its special note.

Kieselberg
The name Kieselberg refers to the soil composition: coarse-grained, stony and loamy sands, in places also limestone weathered soils. Gravel-rich, loamy sandy soil has a storage capacity for soil water and enables good aeration of the roots. The gravel content ensures that the soil warms well. An ideal place for the vines to thrive and the prerequisite for the maturation of a delicious wine.
