Local public transport is an important link between different places in the Palatinate. In the Freinsheim holiday region, the north to south connection from Gruenstadt to Neustadt is particularly important. Another important connection is the train line from Freinsheim via Weisenheim am Sand to Frankenthal. Connections take you to Rhine Hesse, the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan area and there the Mannheim hub.
Freinsheim and the villages Erpolzheim, Herxheim am Berg and Weisenheim am Sand have their own Deutsche Bahn railway station.

Owners of the Pfalzcard (Palatinate guest card) can use the entire public transport network free of charge. The Pfalzcard is only available at participating accommodation establishments.
