More than just a town wall.

A tour of Freinsheim is well worthwhile. The medieval town wall, which is still almost completely preserved, surrounds a historically grown old town centre. Although most of the buildings fell victim to the Palatinate War of Succession in the 17th century, the old buildings from the following eras give an idea of the wealth the town once enjoyed.

The signposted city wall walk shows you the way to the still preserved gates, towers and remains of fortifications. But it is also the small details that make the town so charming: Facade decorations, well-tended plantings or the tiny, angled houses in the old town, of which it is hard to believe that they were once home to large families.

The best way to discover Freinsheim is with a guided tour. But if you want to take a look around on your own first, we have provided you with a map of the town and listed the main sights below.
