It doesn´t always have to be Santiago de Compostela.

In the Freinsheim holiday region, you can become a wine pilgrim via two hiking trails.

Wine pilgrimage trail 1 leads from Kallstadt to Leistadt, Weisenheim am Berg, Herxheim am Berg and back to Kallstadt.

Wine pilgrimage trail 2 leads from Freinsheim via Weisenheim am Sand and Erpolzheim back to Freinsheim.

At various wineries located on the trail, a wine can be tasted with the pilgrim's passport at a sample price of € 0.50.

Depending on the tour, the two paths lead through the vineyards, the Felsenberg/Berntal nature reserve, along the Isenach brook, through the Ludwigshain recreation area and through historic Freinsheim.
Those who complete one of the tours can, if they wish, obtain and download a certificate as "Wine Pilgrim of the Freinsheim Holiday Region".

From November to the end of March, winter wine pilgrimage is the order of the season!
